1) Introduction

Poker Dice for Windows is a game similar to 5 card draw except that it
is played with dice. You place your bet and then throw 5 dice in a cup,
shake the cup, and see what comes out. You can have from 1 to 3 rolls per
deal. Once you've made the best poker hand you can it is the computers turn
to try and beat you.

If you run out of money it will be time to visit the bank. Keep an eye
on the interest rates they change daily and can be steep at times.

Poker Dice is shareware. That is to say, it's not free. Shareware
is a means of marketing software for those of us who don't have a crack
marketing department with a huge budget.

The basic premise is that you get to try out the software before you buy it.
Once you've tried the product, and decided it is worth the cost, you send
in your registration fee and will receive the latest, greatest version of
the software. This process is known as Shareware Registration.

In this case the latest and greatest version has some of the annoying aspects
of the shareware version taken out. Such as, the logo screen does not
appear after every 5 deals, the game loads **much** faster than
the shareware version, and you get a free cheat utility to give yourself
more cash or pay off your debts when you register.

The registration price is $19.95 plus S/H. There are three ways to register:

	1) Cash, Check or Money Order
When the program first starts click on the Cash Order
button and fill out and print the order form. Mail the

2) Installation

Aside from the ZIP file PKDICE.ZIP you will need one other file to
successfully install and run Poker Dice. You will need:

	VBRUN300.DLL

VBRUN300.DLL is the run-time module needed to run all programs written in
the language Visual Basic. VBRUN300.DLL can be found on all on-line
services, or you can get it off my homepage on the World Wide Web. It is
usually stored as VBRUN3.ZIP. Once you have VBRUN300.DLL uncompress it nad
put this file in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

Installing Poker Dice is pretty easy.

	Windows 3.1
If you have the files on a disk in drive
A: you would select Run from the File menu of the
Program Manager and then type in A:\setup and hit
		the Enter key.

If the files are in a directory on your hard drive
you can Double-Click on the SETUP.EXE file from the
		File Manager.

	Windows 95
If you have the files on a disk in drive
A: you would select Run from the Start menu of the
Windows 95 Task Bar and then type in A:\setup and hit
		the Enter key.

If the files are in a directory on your hard drive
you can Right-Click (click the right mouse button)
on the SETUP.EXE file from the Explorer and then select
Open from the menu that appears.

	File Description
Below is a list of the files that are in the archive file
PKDICE.ZIP. The files that end in an underscore (_) are in a
compressed state and can not be used until they are
		uncompressed by the setup program.

SETUP.EXE Setup initialization (Run this to set up program)
		SETUP.INF Used by setup program
		SETUPKIT.DL_ Used by setup program
		VER.DL_ Used by setup program
		SETUP1.EX_ The set up program

DICE.EX_ The executable Poker Dice game
		DICE.HL_ Poker Dice Help file
		FILE_ID.DIZ File identification file
		README.TXT This readme file
PLACE.WA_ WAV file used in game
START.WA_ WAV file used in game
INCUP.WA_ WAV file used in game
WIN.WA_ WAV file used in game
LOSE.WA_ WAV file used in game

DROP1.WA_ WAV file used in game
DROP2.WA_ WAV file used in game
DROP5.WA_ WAV file used in game

If you have Windows 95 and the setup program can't create the folders and
icons then reboot your PC and run the setup again. When this happens the
program is installed but the setup program was unable to establish a DDE
link with Windows to create the Folders and Icons. You can still run the
game by double-clicking on the file DICE.EXE that was installed by the
setup program.

If the setup program fails to run after you see the "Initializing Setup"
window come up then reboot your PC and run the setup program again.
